Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find some of the most frequently asked questions for our league. If you have further questions, please use the email us option at the bottom of the page.

Q: When is the Fall season?

A: Usually Fall practices start in late July / early August with games starting prior to Labor Day.  Games will run through October with a tournament following the regular season.  The fall tournament is a two loss and out tournament and typically lasts 3 weeks. Game locations vary from season to season.

Q: When is the Spring season?

A: Usually Spring practices start in March (weather permitting) with games starting in April.  Games will run through early May with a tournament following the regular season.  The spring tournament is a one loss and out tournament and typically lasts 2 weeks. Game locations vary from season to season.

Q: What are the age requirements?

A: Athletes must be 4 years old by July 31st of the current year to play in our Fall league and 4 years old by December 31st of the current year to play in our Spring League.  Our youngest age group is 4, 5, and a few 6 year old kids.  A refund will be issued to any 4 year old kids who feel uncomfortable.  A full list of birthdate requirements can be found on our registration page.

Q: Do you have Co-ed teams?

A: Only our U6 Dribblers program is co-ed. All other age groups are split between boys and girls.

Q: Can I request my child to play on a specific team?

A: Yes, please email westclermontsoccerclub@gmail.com with your child's name, age group and team request.  We cannot guarantee placement, but every effort will be made to grant your request. All requests will be reviewed by our District Representative and he/she will be in contact if there are any questions.

Q: How do I register?

A: Visit our website, www.westclermontsoccerclub.com, and click on our registration button.  If you are a first time user, you’ll need to create an account.  Once created, you’ll be able to register for future seasons with only a few clicks.  We use our registration system as a communication tool throughout the year.

Q: What is the cut-off for registrations?

A: Dates change from year to year so you’ll need to visit our registration page for more information. We do limit the number of registrations and will open waitlists as needed.  For the spring we typically commit to the number of teams in early March while in the fall we commit to the number of teams in early July.  The cut-off for teams allows volunteers to develop a game schedule for all of CCSA which takes a few weeks of dedicated time.

Q: Can I pay for my club fees by check or with cash?

A: Yes, just email us to make arrangements. westclermontsoccerclub@gmail.com

Q: When and where are trainings?

A:  All trainings are at our home fields at the Batavia Township Park on Clough Pike.  Coaches submit training schedule request at the beginning of the season.  Day and frequency are determined by the coaches.  Typically, U6 coaches train once per week for 45-60 minutes while U7-U14 coaches train twice a week for 60 – 90 minutes, Monday through Friday. Some teams may train more frequently depending on field availability.

Q: When and where are games?

A:  Games are on the weekends (Saturday & Sunday) unless there is a rainout that cannot be rescheduled on the weekend.  In this case games will be played during the week at a time and place that is the most convenient.  Saturday games can start as early as 8am while Sunday games start at 1pm.  All home games are at our fields at the Batavia Township Park on Clough Pike.  Away games are played at fields of other clubs in CCSA (locations can be found on the Field Locations tab). There will be 8 games in the Spring Season (plus tournaments) and 10 games in the Fall Season (plus tournaments). Each team is guaranteed one tournament game in the Spring and two in the Fall. Teams may go further in the tournament depending on wins/losses.

Q: When should I expect to hear from my coach?

A: Unfortunately there are times when we are searching for coaches late into the practice schedule.  Once coaches are identified, they are encouraged to contact the parents as soon as possible.  Coaches are also required to use our on-line registration system to communicate with the parents.  We are always looking for good coaches, let us know if you have an interest in coaching.

Q: What equipment do I need to purchase?

A: Shoes, ball, shin guards, shorts, and water bottle. Our club will purchase shirts for our U6 age group.  The other age groups will need to purchase a uniform.  U6/U7 players will use a size 3 ball, U8-U10 will use a size 4 and U12-U14 will use a size 5. Please ensure to purchase the appropriate size ball for your child.

Q: Can my team get a sponsor or fundraise for equipment fees?

A: All fundraisers and sponsorship requests must be approved by the board. Because our teams wear the same uniform, sponsor information cannot be placed on the uniform itself unless it is a club-wide sponsor.

Q: What does my club fee pay for?

A:  The club fee helps to pay for our referee fees, field maintenance, insurance, and other operational costs.  The operation of our club is enhanced greatly by many, many volunteer hours.

Q: Who do I contact if I have any questions or concerns?

A:  Please look for a board member at the fields during practices or games.  You can also attend a board meeting or email us at westclermontsoccerclub@gmail.com
